Ductless Split Units

What the heck are those things and how do they work?

Ever have that one big room in the house that is either never cold enough or never warm enough? Have an unconditioned room you’d love to use for more than just storage? A ductless split system may be the solution you’re looking for!

A ductless split system takes the standard concept of conventional condensation and evaporation of coolant to regulate temperature control and shrinks it down into units that are able to provide as good or better cooling & heating for single-room zones than traditional ducted systems. Controlled by a remote control, there’s limitless applications for garages, sheds, bonus rooms, or poorly-controlled open areas in your home.

One of the services that Green Home Energy Solutions specializes in is providing multi-zone ductless systems. These systems are designed to operate multiple (up to 5!) indoor units off of a single outdoor unit! Each indoor unit is still capable of regulating temperature separately, so you don’t have to worry about freezing out the occupants in the adjacent room if you would like one room to be much cooler than the others!

Other than the small size, the utility, and the ease of use, mini-splits offer a couple additional benefits over traditional window units or fully ducted systems. First, they’re much quieter than both traditional alternatives – most are quiet enough that you’ll struggle to detect operation when it’s not on full blast mode. Second, the SEER rating associated with most mini-split units is much higher than traditional units – the lowest rating among common mini-split brands is 23 SEER, but it can be rated as high as 28 SEER – that’s double the current governmental minimum!

If you think that a ductless mini-split would solve a problem with the heating and cooling system in your house, garage, shed, you name it – give us a call and let’s discuss the options!
